I now have over 1000 pictures in Flickr. I do like it. If you haven’t signed up yet – do it, it’s sweet. Here’s a randomly rotating picture from my photostream:

Jim Norton coming to Boston
Although tickets aren’t on sale yet, Jim Norton is coming to Boston to do the Comedy Connection on April 8th and 9th. As soon as they go on sale, I’m picking up tickets for the 9th. Who else is in? The Comedy Connection is in Faneuil Hall.
Underwater hotel
Courtesy of BoingBoing, apparently they’re making an underwater hotel in the Bahamas. $1500/night seems a little steep to me, but this picture is pretty compelling. Compelling, of course, if you think there will actually be dolphins and tropical fish swiming inches from your window. Maybe they’ll put out some food or something to keep interesting animals nearby. It would definitely be cool to see a shark maul another animal outside your window.
Free ringtones
I’ve never actually paid for a ringtone, but I did create my first ringtone today, for nothing. This post at LifeHacker points to a video that explains how to do it, and links to the site that’s providing the service for free. It’s pretty cool because you can use any part (limit 20 seconds) of any mp3 you have. I chose the first 15 seconds of The Roots – The Seed 2.0. It sounded pretty good.
Note that it’s not actually free if your cell phone provider charges you for data downloads, but it’s still probably much cheaper (it was much cheaper for me).
The Onion is Funny, My Dad is Famous
This article in the Onion is pretty funny – “Project Manager Leaves Suicide PowerPoint Presentation.” The surprising part of the article is that it mentions my father’s company:
“I think Ron was the only guy at W+K who understood the importance of running the Gretag-Macbeth Eye-One Beamer on presentations.”
Greytag-Macbeth is the company that acquired my father’s company – Sequel Imaging.
Top Albums of 2004
I was planning on writing a post not dissimilar to Fil’s except I realized that I probably only bought a dozen albums this year. So, it would be a little disingenuous for me to say “these are my top 10 albums of the year” – it makes it sound like I bought hundreds of CD’s and these rose to the top. Anyhow, there was a bunch of stuff that came out this year that I really enjoyed and purchased.
Albums I really liked:
– The Killers – Hot Fuss
– The Twilight Singers – She Loves You
– Ray LaMontagne – Trouble
– Modest Mouse – Good News for People Who Love Bad News
– Tom Waits – Real Gone
– Interpol – Antics
– Badly Drawn Boy – One Plus One Is One
– Bobby Bare Jr. – From the End of Your Leash
Albums I found to be pretty good:
– The Streets – A Grand Don’t Come For Free
– The Zutons – Who Killed The Zutons
– Grant Lee Phillips – Virginia Creeper
Albums I wish I’d bought:
– Arcade Fire – Funeral
– Franz Ferdinand – Franz Ferdinand
– Magnet – On Your Side
Patriots Fans
I just found this picture on yahoo. It’s awesome that the Patriots won the Superbowl this weekend, but this fan shot is just classic. It features such encouraging signs as:
“T.O. Has B.O.”
“474-270-0334 Call Me Tom”
“Single + Looking” (with phone number)
and
“I’ll Show you mine if you show me yours!”
What a great group Patriots fans are.
