Patriots Fans

I just found this picture on yahoo. It’s awesome that the Patriots won the Superbowl this weekend, but this fan shot is just classic. It features such encouraging signs as:

“T.O. Has B.O.”
“474-270-0334 Call Me Tom”
“Single + Looking” (with phone number)
and
“I’ll Show you mine if you show me yours!”

What a great group Patriots fans are.

Apple iProduct

Compulsive gadget-acquirer that I am, I nearly purchased the newly announced Mac Mini yesterday. The reason I didn’t is because I couldn’t really fill in the blank in the sentence “I would use it for ______” with a good answer. It’s to underpowered and unexpandable to be my primary machine. Because it can’t take two network cards, I coudn’t turn it into a router. Because it runs an Apple OS, I couldn’t run MythTV on it. It’s just so damn pretty.

Then I received an e-mail today that pretty much summarized why I wanted one: The Apple iProduct (it’s a joke). I’m not really a huge Apple fan, but their products definitely draw this kind of appeal.

The Onion's Election Day Guide

The Onion’s Election Day Guide is pretty amusing in some cases.

If your election official hooks you up to a machine via a needle in your arm, you are actually donating blood.

And then, they slide in a shot at the Libertarians!

You might think it’s funny, but it’s disrespectful to submit write-in candidates like “Don Knotts,” “Mickey Mouse,” or “Michael Badnarik.”

O'Reilly, you Dog

I have read a number of excerpts from the Bill O’Reilly harassment suit and they’re simultaneoulsy some of the funniest yet most disturbing things I’ve ever read. If even a fraction of this is true, O’Reilly should be finished. This flies in the face of everything his public persona stands for. Some of the most odd comments were from the “Carribiean Shower” portion of the lawsuit.

… we would order up some room service and uh and you’d definitely get two wines into you as quickly as I could get into you I would get ’em into you… maybe intravenously, get those glasses of wine into you…

…you’d have to do it really light, just kind of a tease business…

I have to admit, it reads so old-school and bizarre that I can picture O’Reilly saying it… and it’s incredibly disgusting. “tease business”? Oh man.

Anchorman – See it

Schulte and I saw the movie Anchorman this weekend. I don’t typically post about every movie I see, but this one was worth it. Just go to the movies and see it. If you like Will Ferrell, this is him doing what he does best. The mentally retarded weatherman, Brick Tamland, was a riot also. He’s played by Steve Carell, who I knew from the Daily Show but I guess he’s been in other things too.

It’s been a while since I’ve laughed that many times in the movie theatre. Even The Matrix 3 didn’t make me laugh this much.

Jim Norton on Last Comic Standing

Coon Dog alerted me to the fact that Jim Norton is on Last Comic Standing. I read Norton’s blog and he doesn’t explicitly mention it, but some of the comments are interesting.

One of them points to this article which basically reveals (and NBC admits to) the fact that the celebrity/comedian judges don’t actually decide who gets on to the show. The judges just make their comments, and ultimately the contestants are picked by producers/management – not necessarily based on comedic talent, but in good part based on a mix of personalities who would be interesting to live in a house together.

Another post reveals some supposedly “inside news” that Norton doesn’t get into the house because he has a contract with MTV, and some gay guy named Ant gets into the house even though he bombed and the judges walk out in protest or something.

I missed the first two shows (I’m downloading them now from suprnova.org), but assuming there are at least some funny comics chosen I’ll probably watch the whole season. It sure would be great if Norton made it though….

Jim Norton has a blog

I added a link to the right-hand side, but in case you didn’t notice Jim Norton has a blog here. He just started it this week.

For those of you who aren’t familliar with lil’ Jimmy, he was a regular comic on the Opie and Anthony show back in the day. So far, his 3 blog posts have been hilarious.
